So work has been managing to lie under the radar on minute level of irritation over the past seven or so months since I’ve started working for The Bank, but last night, pushed it way up to Code I Hate Fucking India.  I’ve never been the type to hate a whole nation or race of people based upon a personal experience.  If that were the case I’d have to hate my own race and country more than any other on the planet becuase I’ve for sure had more bullshit happen with Caucasian Americans than anyone else.  But I’m really pissed off at India right now.

Look, I’m sure it’s a beautiful country, despite hearing they have no toilet paper over there.  I’m sure there are wonderful people there, but I don’t fucking care.  These morons The Bank has doing our work for us have made me hate the whole country.  I’m going to eat a huge cheeseburger today, I’m so pissed.  (Take that, you cow people, and not in that weird West Virginia way.)

I waited 40 minutes for an entry to come up so I could run it.  It should maybe take half that at the very most.  So naturally because I had to wait I ended up falling behind.  Then they kept doing the entries out of order, I’d have my sorter and jogger loaded up and ready to go, then I’d have to take the checks out and do a different tray.  This happened at least two or three times.  They also are failing to correct the upside down images.  They’re supposed to flip them so that when I have to match the actual check to the image, the image isn’t upside down!

When they do our reject repair, they’re entering the encoding fields all wrong.  They’re using phone numbers and zip codes as account numbers, for fuck’s sake!  Vroom Vroom and Seaweed were between here in the US, between NY and Baltimore for like two months, how did they fail to learn this so they could teach their staff in India?  Not to mention the stuff that we have to do, but didn’t bother training them to do it so they don’t have to.  So it’s going to take us lomger to get the work done because we have to do what they’re not doing?  WTF?

I don’t understand how this is supposed to save The Bank money.  Let’s pay our workers in Buffalo and Baltimore to run the work, then let’s pay them to wait for the work to be done that they could have been done themselves, so that we can pay some guys on the other side of the world to do it.  I don’t get it.

No wonder our economy sucks and no one here can get a job, we’re too busy sending them all fucking overseas!

I can’t wait to eat that damn cheeseburger.

What’s your opinion?  Offshoring, yay or nay?

-Miss Destiny-

This isn’t even a blog. It’s more of uhhhh…request by a chick?

I’ve had it with these which Ive purchased three of for my son (big suck it to the parents out there shaking their heads):

Spiderman, Scooby Doo aaaaaand Elmo (when he was younger)

They’re all pieces of shit. And I’m sick of trying to win a game for the bastard!

Sooooo…I’ve decided to bite it and buy an actual console. One in which we can rent games, play and win games together, hoot and holler at the television set.

Thing is, Im not asking my brother for advice on this because he maintains top of the line whatmacallit that is most popular right now which ever one that happens to be, and he will just push for the most recent and best and most expensive.

And, well, my kid is four so screw that.  He doesn’t know the difference between an Xbox 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

I haven’t owned a console since N64, and I only bought that right before I got knocked up and real life kicked in.

So I want your advice. What should I buy? How much is it going to cost me? Hell, what is even available to buy right now where I can leave say in the next few hours and go purchase?

Thanks, yawl.

But this has been a busy week and I haven’t found the time.  I guess I’ll just post this Sunday and start fresh.  Not that it matters one way or the other.  It’s just that I like to be reliable, even online.

I saw this prayer on my morning update from Faithstreams a couple weeks ago. I liked it, and I thought you might like it too.

It is so easy

to get caught up

with the trappings of wealth

in this life.

Grant, O Lord,

that I may be free

from greed and selfishness.

Remind me that

the best things in life

are free:

Love, laughter, caring and sharing.

This chart says it all. A new study discovers that the vast majority of Facebook apps are an utter waste of time. But oh yeah — Facebook is worth $9 billion, or $15 billion. And Slide is worth half a billion because it makes that super important FunWall application. Um, right. Kids, let’s face it. Facebook is Webkinz for adults. Facebook is a Ponzi scheme. A handful of VCs have created the illusion of an actual market by funding apps companies and then doing deals with each other — passing cash back and forth among to make it look as if money is being made.

What really freaks me out is that when you mention this to the VCs, they say, “So what? What’s wrong with that?” I used to think they were being coy. But I’ve come to believe that they actually don’t know what’s wrong with that. Worse yet, they all give me this sad look, like I’m some crazy old uncle at Thanksgiving dinner who just doesn’t “get” the whole Web 2.0 thing.

Sigh. Maybe they’re right. I guess I’m getting old. But I really miss the days when people in the Valley made actual products.

Day 8, a Friday, was a slow one for me…

  • I woke up at lunchtime and hurried as I had a meeting scheduled at 2 pm. Had a veryyy hard time getting a cab. When I was already near the meeting place, some sort of miscommunication happened and I THOUGHT that the meeting was either canceled or postponed so I went to Trinoma instead.
  • Trinoma is ginourmous! I decided to watch a movie ALONE! Whattaloser! So I bought some Oliver’s Sandwich and Dalandan Juice and settled in to watch Forbidden Kingdom! HURRAH! Ang galing… yun lang… SOBRANG GALING!
  • Then I met up with Kuya Andrew to eat dinner at Cibo in Glorietta. We shared the Spinach and Gorgonzola Cheese dip. I had the Braised Lamb with White Wine, Turnips and Carrots. It was heavenly. The meat was so tender and flavorful. Hay basta… try it! It was served with a very delicious cup of rice flavored with garlic and parsley (I think).
  • Then, I went to the Mineski Grounds in Arena to meet up with another journalist. He was going to cover the Asian DotA Championship Philippine Qualifiers Finals between CORPOration (my team) and NINJA (my ex-boyfriend’s team but my ex wasn’t there). It was a fun night despite the fact that my team lost. I went home at around 4 am.
  • Did some twitting, emailing, chatting, and other online stuff.
  • The highlight: I finally deleted some 60+ messages from my phone’s inbox… moving on is such a bitch!
  • Slept at 6 am.
  • Later today… dinner with political bloggers and The Banana Gangbang Rock Festival!!!

Question: “How do you view femininity and what aspect do you embrace it with ? An artform, personal growth , because its who you are, sexual gratification?”

Thought I’d give you a quick update on our move. We’re into Packing: Day 5 and so far - knock on wood - I haven’t misplaced anything important, like asthma meds or underwear. I am still sane. So is Mitch and Little Buddy our Yorkie. However Sam, our Teddy Terrier, has been doing a dead-on impersonation of Dakota Fanning in War of the Worlds. Poor little guy, he doesn’t deal with change very well, so our vet put him on doggie Prozac until we get the move behind us and get settled into our new home.
