I went to the dollar store the other day and passed by the silly cheap school supply section. I was inspired by the flimsy posterboard to take up a little art project. So I bought a couple sheets, some glue sticks and a packet of paster paper and started planning out my project.
Now admittedly, my plans were a blatant rip-off of some art I had seen at the Seattle Center several years ago, but I really liked it and I guess that excuses my actions.
my project: a cherry blossom tree made out of cut/ripped paper.
sketch
I sketched out my idea of the finished image, an absurdly twisted rendition of a tree trunk and branches w/ blossoms.
transfer design…
I then roughly sketched the design onto my piece of poster board.
I shredded pieces of browd paper and started gluing them to my posterboard in the shape of the trunk.â
I then cut out several small pink circles (some I cut into the shape of the blossoms that they will all eventually be) and planned out where I wanted them to be when I finish.â
That’s as far as I got. I hadplans to do a background scenery out of cut paper as well, but was kind of blocked. I soon realized taht I probably should have planned out a background before creating my tree. Live and learn. Maybe I’ll do some watercolor-like additions, but that would ruin the cut paper theme. I wish I had some very sheer pnk tissue paper, but it’s not likely to happen. I may take my tracing paper and give it a slight pink wash.
anywhoooo… this is the status update, as promised.
future updates wil be forthcoming, unless I flake out and forget about this project.
So the tech analtards over at Gartner now realize that the iPhone can be used for business calls. Duh.

Here’s a short how-to video for making Italian Cream Puffs. It is called Italian, because the filling is made of sweet cheese rather than Bavarian or Cream.
Puff Pastry Ingredients
1/2 cup Butter (preferably salted)
1 cup Water
1 cup pre-sifted Flour
1/4 teaspoon Salt
4 Eggs
This is a standard puff pastry recipe.
Filling Ingredients
1/2 cup Cream Cheese*
1/4 cup Ricotta Cheese*
1/4 cup Sugar
*1 cup Mascarpone Cheese (instead of Cream Cheese and Ricotta) can be used if available.
Chocolate Sauce Ingredients
1 cup Bittersweet Chocolate Chips
1 tablespoon Butter
We used half this recipe only.
The video features me - Ria Jose, my cousin Gwing Cabreira, and my aunts Ivi Cabreira and Baby dela Serna.
WE HAD A BLAST OUT THERE.

El Jobso fan boy Nick Wingfield is sitting in for Goatberg for a few weeks while the latter learns new ways to jam more me’s-myself’s-and-I’s into his columns.
We were all set for Son of Goatberg, but here’s the interesting thing: In just over 800 words, Wingfield does not include one self-reference. Thankfully the article is replete with mentions of my genius. Which makes it semi worthwhile. But really, this is news?
While the Goatberg drought is a pause that refreshes, Wingfield gets massive demerits for failing to focus solely on the 3g iPhone as he has been instructed. Instead, he speculates on all the cool other stuff we’re cooking up. As all filthy hacks shouldknow by now, the interwebs are abuzz about our new device. It’s the natural order of things.
So, Nick, girlfriend: How do you explain this lapse? Katie will be in touch. And, she’s ticked.
