—when strolling down the street in the beautiful sunshine and brownstone lined streets of Bed-Stuy….
The birds are chirping, the flowers are lovely and blooming in everyones front garden, you’re having a wack, wack awful day.. but the Al Green in your headphones is actually making things just a little better..
Oh look!! A butterfly.. you reach out your hand and… omg. it lands on your finger..
You half expect a deer and a raccoon to come out and sway along to the tunes with you.
The butterfly gently lifts off into flight, you look to the sunshine and smile as it disappears around a tall tree gently swaying in the breeze.

It’s all gonna be ok.. you think.. you start walking again, a bit more strut in your gait..

Then you walk into a swarm of gnats.

Sweaty, laughed at for flailing about wildly, earring on the floor, purse contents strewn bout the sidewalk…

but worse…. your lipgloss was so poppin.. so godamned poppin’.. like 85 gnats immediately got stuck directly to your lips.
Now they’re mostly on your hands.. They can’t come off because your lipgloss is now “poppin” all over your fingers..

You spend the remaining 4 blocks trying to gather yourself together while flicking sticky bugs off your fingers.. they don’t really flick off.. they moreso transfer to the flickee finger..

I thought I wouldn’t blog more today.. but in lieu of recent annoying complaints and inspite of the crap time I’m having..
I thought you might want to share in this one and perhaps laugh a bit.

I swear.. I’m not into all this emotional vag talk..

but word.. memo.. must find less sticky lipgloss..

I’ve been setting up my new office this week. I’m tossing all my old notes for writing projects I never persued and making room for new things. I got tired of running across scraps of paper with notes scribbled on them thinking, Oh, I never did anything with that.  Made me feel like I’d dropped the ball or missed out on something, when, in fact, I didn’t miss anything; I just went with something stronger at that time. Not all ideas writers get are golden; some of them are real stinkers and deserve to fade quietly away in the bottom of a desk drawer.

My computer is gone forever =(..I lost all of my pictures, files, and songs..funny my phone just erased everyones number a week ago too!! I feel like I’m on survivor..can I work and stay in contact with everyone with no computer or phone numbers!! =) If I know you send me your number …Electronic problems!! Boo!! Drop me an e-mail if you have any recommendations as to what type of computer I should buy next..the last was a dell..it was pretty phenominal for a while and then started having problems in the last year….luckily I have awesome friends who let me use their computers!! Below are a couple of the pages from Splat Magazine. I’m also on the cover…you can find it on newstands now..Hot chicks and paintball guns!! Nothing like it!!

 I went to the dollar store the other day and passed by the silly cheap school supply section.  I was inspired by the flimsy posterboard to take up a little art project.  So I bought a couple sheets, some glue sticks and a packet of paster paper and started planning out my project.

Now admittedly, my plans were a blatant rip-off of some art I had seen at the Seattle Center several years ago, but I really liked it and I guess that excuses my actions.

my project:  a cherry blossom tree made out of cut/ripped paper.

I sketched out my idea of the finished image, an absurdly twisted rendition of a tree trunk and branches w/ blossoms.

I then roughly sketched the design onto my piece of poster board.
I shredded pieces of browd paper and started gluing them to my posterboard in the shape of the trunk.↓

I then cut out several small pink circles (some I cut into the shape of the blossoms that they will all eventually be) and planned out where I wanted them to be when I finish.↓

That’s as far as I got. I hadplans to do a background scenery out of cut paper as well, but was kind of blocked.  I soon realized taht I probably should have planned out a background before creating my tree.  Live and learn.  Maybe I’ll do some watercolor-like additions, but that would ruin the cut paper theme.  I wish I had some very sheer pnk tissue paper, but it’s not likely to happen.  I may take my tracing paper and give it a slight pink wash.

anywhoooo… this is the status update, as promised.
future updates wil be forthcoming, unless I flake out and forget about this project.

Right on cue–the Beastmaster must have read about the coinage of “Vistaster” as a term of art–the Borg makes scary Steve Sinofsky available to house stenographer Ina Fried for an “interview.”

Sinofsky thinks he’s raised secrecy to an art form. Funny thing is, if we actually wanted to know anything about this hideous Son of Vista, we’d know it by now.

Moshe says if you ever want to freak this guy out, just walk by his office and let your coffee slurp around in the cup. He’ll be so fixated on any possible spillage that he’ll be completely off his game. For hours. Imagine how that guy must feel about cleaning up after the Vista elephant.

Meanwhile, the lower-ranking Vistatards, all evidence to the contrary, are busy declaring victory on their little blog.

“The business results speak for themselves,” types designated Vistatard Chris Flores. More than 140 million Windows Vista licenses sold etc etc etc. Unclear how many are actually in use.
